Piano Lessons at
Weatherford Music Academy

Piano Lesson Information

What styles of piano do you teach?
We currently focus on teaching piano styles that the majority of kids love, with a focus on fundamentals like chords, scales, and using those fundamentals to learn their favorite songs.  We have found that focusing on the music that kids love helps them develop a love for music, and to be self-motivated in their practice.Starting Fall of 2019 we will offer classical piano lessons with more focus on reading music and learning classical pieces, working with piano Method Books.

How qualified are your piano instructors?
Our piano and music instructors bring years of professional performance and teaching experience to your lessons.  Our founder, Phoenix, has studied at the world renown Berklee College of Music and has years of professional performance experience, and our other instructors come from a similar pedigree, with degrees in music from colleges like UT Austin and University of North Texas, to experience teaching at schools like Weatherford College and Tarrant County Community College.  You may even see some of our instructors performing around town at venues like Northside Remedy, Shep’s, Antebellum, and more!

What will I learn from piano lessons at the Academy?
Beginner piano students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, and theory. Our instructors balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson presents a new technical challenges or theory concept, and ends with something fun, such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of piano methods and techniques, and encourage students to bring their smartphone or CDs to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes. Whether you want to learn Beethoven or Billie Eilish, our teachers are dedicated to helping you become the pianist you want to be. They will show you the fundamentals of sight reading, technique and theory, and incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons.
